Universidade São Tomás of Mozambique will hold an International Conference on Thomistic Philosophy
The Conference together with the Institution’s Graduation Ceremony will take place within the framework of celebrations for ICUSTA’s 25 years
In the framework of celebrations for ICUSTA’s 25 years, the Universidade São Tomás of Mozambique will hold in the city of Maputo this November 7 and 8 the International Conference on Thomistic Philosophy, “Thomism as Philosophy of Life.” It will be dedicated to the subject: Ethics, Deontology, Anti-Corruption, and Thomism.
Moreover, the UST Mozambique will hold, once the Conference has finished, the Institution’s Eighth Graduation Ceremony. This event also will be part of the commemorations of the quarter of a century that our Network has completed.
Both events will have the participation of ICUSTA’s representative, Father Alejandro Ramos, Vice Rector of Formation at the Universidad FASTA in Mar del Plata, Argentina, who during the Conference will present a lecture on Saint Thomas Aquinas’ Theology of the Church and Postmodernism.
It should be noted that the International Conference on Thomistic Philosophy, organized by the Graduate School and the Faculty of Ethics, Social and Legal Sciences of the UST Mozambique, will be an occasion in which experts can share perceptions on the relevance of this subject, in light of important moralists and philosophers, with particular focus on Saint Thomas Aquinas.
Furthermore, some of the goals of the Conference are to discuss how Thomistic thought can guide ethics, economy, and education in our time, as well as to reflect upon the subject of ethics in institutions. For this, themes such as the historical setting of Saint Thomas Aquinas and the experiences and challenges for the Thomistic spirit in diverse contexts will be addressed.
